Twisted Luck by Mia Downing #Paranormal #erotic #romance

Mia Downing will be awarding a $20 Amazon or Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour.

If your book were made into a movie, who would you want to play your main characters?
That’s a hard question because I don’t think of my books in movie form. I rarely picture the characters as movie stars for some reason. However, I consulted friends who’ve read the book to see what they think.
Leo: Thomas Beaudoin (with brown contacts) or Zac Efron
Olivia: Jennifer Lawrence

How do you come up with the titles of your books?
They’re usually a group undertaking, bouncing off ideas until something sticks like spaghetti on the wall. Twisted Luck really fit the book. I usually write the book and then come up with something better than the hero’s name.

What does your writing space look like?
I have a desk against the wall under my pantry storage area, and it’s covered in a lot of stuff including dust! It needs decluttering. For fun stuff, I have a bird’s nest made from the tail hairs of two horses I know, a glow in the dark skeleton that found his way into my pocket after picking up a Halloween mess (it wasn’t something illegal though my mind makes it out to be grand theft skeleton).

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?
I don’t get a lot of free time, but I’m teaching our older horse to drive (pull a carriage) this spring. I started last fall and he is a blast! Very smart.

What is your favourite color?
Purple, but I love blue and greens, too. I’m a Pisces, so all those watery colors make sense! I have strawberry blonde hair, so a love of pink clashed with my really ruddy cheeks and hair.

What is your favourite pleasure food?
I love Taco Bell. But homemade, I love mac and cheese and apple pie with a crumb topping.

What is your favourite season?
Autumn. I live in New England, so I love the changing leaves, the crisp air but warm days, the pumpkins and Halloween. I was married in October, and it was so fun to decorate with stalks of dried corn and gourds.

What is your favourite television show?
Lucifer! I started watching after Twisted Luck was written because I was terrified it would be too close to my story. It’s not, and I love the storyline and the acting. Tom Ellis is amazing and so sexy.

What is your favourite movie?
Pretty Woman. I love Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. The movie is so classic romance. I love that she wants the fairy tale at the end.

Who is your favourite actor?
I don’t really have a favorite, which is pretty boring. I don’t watch a ton of TV or movies. However, I really admire Jennifer Lawrence. She’s very talented, bright, funny, and honest. Ooh I also like Jennifer Garner. Same reasons!

What is your favourite song?
It depends on the day and the book. Right now, Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers and Cold Play is on my list of favorites. I love U2’s With or Without You, though. It’s something I listen to for books and have fond memories of from my teen years.

What is your favourite comfort clothing attire?
I’m a jeans and T-shirt girl with New Balance sneakers. I’ve just started wearing LuLaRoe dresses and shirts to my part time job in a real estate office, and it’s very comfortable!

What books might we find on your bedside table?
Most of the books by my bed are either my personal novels (in the sale box underneath the table) or belong to authors I’ve edited. My Kindle is full of a mix of romance, erotic romance, new adult and historicals.

Describe yourself in three words.
My three words were tired, overworked, and chilly. And old. It’s my birthday on the day I’m writing this, so I feel really old. However, I asked my friend what she would say, and she said sassy, creative, and caring.

BLURB
When I told him to go to hell, I never realized it would be a trip for two.

All I wanted was luck—the good kind. I’d lost my job, a jerk hacked my bank account, and I caught my best friend screwing my fiancĂ©. When stood up by my Internet date in a bar, I met the perfect man—tall, dark, and handsome in the most expensive suit. He was out of my league, but I didn’t want forever.

I barely remember the words he whispered under the veil of sin and seduction. I didn’t believe in Satan, God, Heaven or Hell. I thought he was kidding. A figment. A dream.

I was wrong. With one, breathless yes, my fate was sealed.

Businessman by day, demon by night, Leo Weston now owns my soul in exchange for good luck. Time is ticking as he works to secure my mother’s soul, too. Somehow, I have to take him down despite him being so damned gorgeous, glib, and devious. Will my gift of twisted luck be enough to save her and protect my heart?

EXCERPT
“What would you give, Olivia, to have your revenge?” he asked.

“I don’t want revenge.” But honestly…I’d sell my soul for some good luck.

“What did you say?”

I frowned. “I don’t want revenge?”

“No, the other.”

“I don’t recall saying that out loud.”

He leaned closer and practically whispered, “Say it anyway.”

I licked my lips, unable to tear my gaze from his chocolaty one. “I—” I licked my lips again. “I’d sell my soul for good luck.”

“Would you?” He leaned forward on his elbows, interested and eager for my answer.

“Would you?” I countered, shocked by his words and that I’d even contemplate this to begin with. People didn’t sell their souls. I didn’t believe in God, Satan, hell, or heaven. When I was little, God hadn’t helped my mother or me when we’d needed him most. I sure as hell didn’t see any help on this horizon.

“I already did. Paid the piper, too.” Blatant honesty and sadness quirked in a slight smile.

Now I sat a little taller. Had this guy been through hell and back? No way could someone fake that look, the one of cold despair. I knew it too well. I had seen it on my mother’s eyes, viewed it in the mirror when I gazed at myself. I had thought Mr. Perfect hot and out of my league, but this…maybe this soft admission put him square in my playing field.

AUTHOR Bio and Links
Mia Downing started creating heroes at age four, but her heroes back then rode ponies to the rescue and only kissed her on the cheek. Today, Mia's heroes still rescue those in need, but the price of their toys and the expertise of their seduction leads to a whole lot more. When Mia isn't busy creating new stories for her readers she fills in as an underwear model for a prestigious lingerie company. She also lives in New England with her family, and enjoys horses and knitting.
Fun facts: Mia can juggle (poorly,) create balloon animals and face paint. She was the hit entertainment of two family parties. No clown suits were involved.
